This is a privately operated reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking or release record. Contact the agency that holds the case for those services.
Start With the Case Number
Before calling, collect the person's full legal name, date of birth, approximate custody dates, booking or DOC number, and court cause number if known. A case-number-first approach helps the jail, court, or corrections office distinguish people with similar names and locate the existing record instead of creating a general narrative.
Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center
5 Basler Drive
Ste. Genevieve, MO 63670
Phone: 573-883-5820
Normal business hours stated in the sheriff FAQ: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call before visiting because other county listings show an earlier 4:30 p.m. closing.
Jail Administrator: Lt. Andrew Johnson, ajohnson@sgcso.com
A former detainee seeking durable proof may personally mail a written request for a Letter of Incarceration to the records custodian at the Basler Drive address. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope and the identifying details above. The jail does not accept third-party requests for this letter, will not send it by fax or email, and does not issue the county letter for U.S. Marshals Service detainees. For an ordinary Chapter 610 release-record request, call 573-883-5820 to confirm delivery options and any estimate. The sheriff FAQ's $5 base price covers incident or accident reports and is not a promised price for release records or booking photographs.
